Learning from the NQT year
If you are an NQT interested in gaining 30 Masters level credits for only £350 (TDA subsidised) then you will be interested in our 'Learning from the NQT year' module.
Whether you are at a distance or working in group tutorials we are able to support you to complete the next step on the professional development ladder towards a Masters qualification. We do this through tutorials face to face or on line, e mail and a Blackboard learning environment support where you can network with other NQTs.
The 'Learning from the NQT year' module is personalised and dovetails with the requirements of the NQT portfolio as you will use it as evidence of meeting the Core Teacher (Induction) Standards.
You reflect on your Transition Point 2 action planning and write about the challenges of your new role and your aspirations.
You consider the nature and impact of your CPD experiences on your practice and then you pursue one planned piece of professional learning eg/ designing a scheme of work, a series of lessons / materials, video, artefact, research: all this on an area you are interested in and you choose
Finally at Transition Point 3 you look back at your Induction period; thinking about your progress, your support programme and your aspirations for the RQT Year.

Once you've completed your NQT year you will also have begun your progress towards a masters award. Most NQTs would go onto to take modules from our Learning and Teaching route, but if you start to take on wider responsibilities then have a look at what our other routes have to offer.
See how this module has inspired others to take part in further study and develop their own learning to a greater level. Natalie Johnson writes about her experience undertaking the module 'Learning from the NQT Year'.
