Computer games and children’s collaborative talk

by Rob Hobson

Contribution overview

Programme: MA Education
Module: Extended Professional Project

I am a Key Stage 2 teacher, and have been teaching for 10 years. I am particularly interested in ICT and language and am keen to see how the use of computers in the primary classroom can encourage the further development of the language used by children. I am also interested in how the way that children work collaboratively in groups can help them to construct their own learning and development.

The presentation is based around small-scale research that I have carried out for my MA dissertation. This involved examining the way in which children work together in groups and how the talk that they used was influenced by the way they worked.
