The Division of Education and Humanities oversees the work of The Professional and Curriculum Development Team which encompasses a breath of courses and programmes for schools, post compulsory education and multi-agency professionals involved in education.
The Professional Development Programme is the post graduate taught service tailored for school leaders, class teachers/staff, and post compulsory educational trainers who are interested in Continuing Professional Development. To benchmark there are approximately 600-800 new students and 1,200-1,500 registered PDP students per academic year at present.
How to get to our campus.
Teaching on campus takes place at the Arundel building, our new accommodation on City Campus. You may also need to visit our administrative team, they are based in Room 1140 in the Owen Building.
Most of the tutors who work on the programme have offices in the Owen and Arundel buildings.

General enquiries can be directed to the Course Administration Team Manager. Information about specific courses for current, or prospective, CPD participants can be obtained from the respective Course Administrator.
Course Administrators deal with all non academic aspects of your time with SHU. This encompasses a wide range of issues from course dates to fee information, enrolment to assessment regulations.
Academic Tutors are available for advice and guidance on the selection of modules and the most appropriate path of study to take.
Route Leaders are experts in their fields and are ideal people to talk to when setting up new CPD initiatives in your organisation. They can advise you how we can help you the most.
